Here, for your viewing pleasure, are the blurry blurry pictures taken of Mr. Skink or Salamander or whatever in hell he is. We suspect they live in the pond that's not far from our house, but they nest in the rotten wood out by our shed. This is not the BIG fellow, this is the medium one. We have the blue-tails around as well, but they're smaller. This is the fellow that has a golden throat, though you can't see that here.

Looks like a five-lined skink :}. Which makes sense--blue-tailed skinks are actually immature five-lined.

See, that's what I would have thought, except for the size of them. THe blue-tailed ones, yeah, there's no doubt about them. THis one, might be so. It's possible it's just a rather old skink. But the big one...that one is a MONSTER, and there's no way that one is a skink, unless it's a mutant of some sort. I can't ever get a picture of that one, it's too fast, but it's larger than any of the descriptions of skinks say they get.
